In a world driven by deadlines, deliverables, and bottom lines, it's easy to overlook the profound importance of creativity and self-expression in our work. These two elements are not just luxuries or optional extras—they are fundamental to our satisfaction, success, and problem-solving abilities.

Creativity is the catalyst for innovation- the spark that ignites new ideas, approaches, and solutions. Without it, we stagnate, relying on tired methods and outdated strategies. But when we embrace creativity as the life force of our work, we open ourselves to endless possibilities, pushing the boundaries of how things are done, and breaking through barriers to achieve extraordinary results.

Creativity opens us up to endless possibilities; something that is no longer optional but a necessity in the rapidly changing work landscape.

Self-expression is the cornerstone of impactful leadership, giving way to authenticity, originality and transparency in the workplace. It acts as the key to unlocking our genuine potential allowing us to forge deeper connections with others by doing so. When we stifle our authentic selves or hide parts of ourselves to conform or comply, we suffocate our creativity, passion, and sense of purpose. We sacrifice our sparkle. On the flip side, when we embrace and honor our individual voices, unique perspectives, and who we are down to the core, we unleash a force capable of inspiring others and influencing change within ourselves, our people and our culture. Our sparkle shines.

We all have our own version of "sparkle" and when we choose to share it in the workforce, we become a force capable of inspiring others and influencing change.

By making creativity and self-expression the focal points of our work, we not only enhance our productivity and performance but also cultivate environments that nurture innovation, collaboration, curiosity, and play. We create spaces where everyone feels valued, empowered, and free to share their ideas, insights, and aspirations without fear of judgment or reprisal.

Here are some helpful prompts to answer these questions more easily. To make this thought-provoking experience more powerful, I suggest journaling it out.

• What was a moment in your life/work where you felt like you were exactly where you needed to be doing what you were meant to be doing?
• What unique talents or qualities do others often recognize and appreciate in you? (Hint: Reflect on the times when people have told you that you're a freakin' genius and you're so good at what you do! What were they referring to?)

• When do you feel most like your authentic self?
• What makes you feel sparkly?
