Guarantee for yourself the Christmas gift you always wanted .
... with the perfect Santa's letter!
Want to impress Santa this year? Follow these simple tips to craft a magical, persuasive letter -
1. Know your audience Santa’s generous and jolly, but he’s busy. Keep it short, cheerful, and easy to read.
2. Start with a warm greeting "Dear Father Christmas" works well. "Yo Santa" less so - unless you’re after a pair of ropey old second-hand socks!
3. Grab attention early Open with a friendly, thoughtful line: "I hope you’re staying warm up at the North Pole!" This shows you’re kind, empathetic and thoroughly deserving of a great present.
4. Be specific and clear Avoid vague asks like "a toy car." Instead, paint a vivid picture - "I’d love the shiny red remote-control car with racing stripes I saw in the toy shop." Santa appreciates clarity.
5. Sell yourself Show Santa why you’re on the nice list "I’ve been very good this year. I always take the bins out and even, occasionally, put the loo seat down."
6. Use a strong call to action End with a clear, festive ask: "I’ll leave mince pies and carrots for you and the reindeer. Merry Christmas, and I can’t wait to hear those sleigh bells!"
7. Add a personal touch A festive doodle, a joke, or a heartfelt note will stand out: "P.S. Rudolph is my favourite reindeer (don’t tell the others!)."
8. Proofreed wit care Even Santa loves a polished letter. Double-check your spelling.
Follow these 8 tips, and no doubt the gift you always wanted will be on its way! ??.
Be the Friendly Expert
That's just a simple tip I've learned after 10 years of the fascinating and rewarding craft of networking. And yes, 'craft' is certainly the right word.
Remember - we shouldn't be turning up to our networking meeting in order to 'sell'. Sure, we need to describe what we do and how our skills and know-how will benefit our connections.
But ... and I'll say it again ... a little louder this time - WE ARE NOT THERE TO SELL!
Our prime aim must be to - Show a genuine interest in others. - Be curious.
Ask them about their world. Ask them about what's working - and what's not. All this will make us come across as a nice person (not a bad start).
Here come the referrals!
Before long, as people get to know you and learn about our skills, we’ll become known as that nice person ... who also happens to know their stuff.
Then, slowly, slowly we'll attain the Holy Grail of networking. We'll earn a reputation as someone who’s a ...
