At Spectro Cloud we've been sending a monthly email newsletter for years. Now we're bringing it to LinkedIn.
- No more than one newsletter per month.
- A simple digest format
- Links to blogs, videos and other content
- Quality insights, not just promotional materials
- Focus on all things Kubernetes and cloud native, from edge to cloud
Regular readers will know we’re big champions of KubeVirt for running VMs on your clusters. This month we’ve got two innovations to share:
- First, what we’re calling ‘2 room HA’: a brand new approach to stretching a cluster across two locations in a factory, hospital or other site to provide resiliency for VM and container workloads. In this article we map out the architecture top to bottom.
- Second, we tackle the thorny issue of actually migrating your VM workloads, looking at automation tools like Forklift and our own VM Migration Assistant. Check out the how-to here.
- We may still be weeks from KubeCon Europe, but hotels are already selling out. Now’s the time to get your tickets booked. Building your schedule? Join us for Edge Day where one of our manufacturing customers, Focke & Co, will be sharing their pioneering journey with edge Kubernetes inside factory machinery. All the details are here.
- If 2025 is the year when you finally invest in a K8s management platform, this new blog from Vinnie walks you through some of the considerations that need to be on your list. Apparently step one is ‘buy a new motorbike’... ???
- The reality is that your success with any software depends on more than just the product features.?It comes down to things like the support and customer experience you get — as this blog explores.?
- It also depends on the quality of the documentation you have access to, from the first ‘getting started’ tutorial, to the clarity of every page (shout out to Vale.sh), and the dev tools like SDKs that your vendors make available.?
- Rancher’s K3s is still a popular K8s distribution for smaller devices at the edge — but it comes with some limitations, particularly around monitoring. In this blog we show you how to get Prometheus metrics up and running for your K3s control plane.
- Gateway API isn’t new, but it’s certainly less familiar than good ol’ Ingress. If you’re looking for a primer and a how-to guide to get you started, Ahmad from our advanced projects team has just what you need. Read the article here.
- Our engineering team has been busy over the new year period, and Palette 4.5.20 is out, with a host of new features. Check out the release notes for the details.
- Adding to our roster of certifications and accreditations, we’re proud to say we’ve been approved under the Joint Certification Program (perhaps better known as DD2345) — heads up to those of you in the DoD.
- And last but not least, we’ve earned another ranking from our friends at CRN, calling us one of the 20 Coolest Cloud Companies. Boom. ??
