Well, isn’t this a twist…I put Authenticity last on the list of Sales Success Traits!

This week I explored and explained why Openness, Curiosity, Creativity and Persistence were ahead of Authenticity.

Leadership Effectiveness

The final Sales Success Trait is Authenticity.

Not just because I wrote a book called Selling With Authentic Persuasion, but because it is the final key piece in the mindset toolbox for a successful sales professional.

Sales Operation Effectiveness

Here we are…building out your process to hire for the final Sales Success Trait: Authenticity.

It might be the hardest one to select for, even though you could be inclined to think it’s the easiest.

The first reason why it is hard to identify if someone is being Authentic is that the interview process is a lot like dating – people put on their best face, their best behavior, focus on their strengths and none of their weaknesses, make their accomplishments sound amazing (even if they weren’t that great), and try to keep their skeletons hidden.

PS. We just celebrated Thanksgiving in the US yesterday. A time for celebrating with friends and family and being thankful for things in our life. What are you most thankful for? For me, at times, it’s the ability to be thankful – sometimes, when things aren’t great I can still always find something to be thankful for.
