Welcome to the Sabre Poland Highlights newsletter – Summer 2024 edition!

Here you can find a recap of all the many events and initiatives that kept the air hot at Sabre Poland throughout the summer!

Welcoming young talent

Summer is the time when we focus on young talent as part of our internship program. This was also the case this year!

• On July 1st we welcomed our 38 great new Interns ! We immediately got down to introducing them to the ins and outs of Sabre's inner workings. First meetings within the #InternshipAcademy took place shortly after , where our Interns got to listen to Marek Godawski , Anna Micek , and our very Internship Program’s graduates. Their goal was to summarise as concisely as possible how we operate here at Sabre.
• In July we also celebrated National Intern Day ! Our ex-Interns shared some advice on making the early days of your professional journey nice and smooth. As you can see, their tips are absolutely spot-on.
• Wojtek Gworek , Cezary Zminkowski and Marta Waligorska had a special breakfast and coffee session with our Interns . On that afternoon, everyone could share some ideas, familiarise with each other, and ask our board members about everything one would like to know about Sabre.
• As the summer internship’s third month was near, more #InternshipAcademy meetings took place , giving our Interns more practical insights into code development, project management, and effective communication. Pawe? Szonecki covered personal branding and effective communication, Przemyslaw Kadela tackled Agile in practice, and Szymon Sadowski talked about his specialty – mastering code reviews. Quite a day!

What’s best is that more activities within #SummerInternship will be happening soon!

Staying active and eco-friendly

• Following in on the themes of recent Wellbeing Month, Arkadiusz Smoragiewicz , Sebastian Inglot and Marcin Kotas talked in detail about the many activities of Sabre Sports Clubs . This article contains a few fun facts about our Sports Clubs that you’ve probably never known before!
• We’ve also shared some photos from Cycling Club’s recent morning session , courtesy of Sebastian Inglot.
• A litter pick-up action was organised as part of ongoing #GiveTogether, and we’re talking about an unusual one. Couple of our team members cleaned the Nida river, getting from Pińczów all the way to Chroberz. Their clean-up action was pretty intense and successful.

Celebrating hospitality and cooperation

• Sabre Hospitality leaders visited our office in August. Ashok Pinto , Rodrigo Goncalves , Tony Martine and Shubha Pal have shared an immense amount of knowledge and insights with us and spent some delightful time here in Krakow .?
• Yet, it wasn’t just Sabre having guests. Cezary Zminkowski represented Sabre at the 248th anniversary of the United States of America's independence co-celebrated with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the US consulate in Krakow, our long-time partner.

Sabre Poland blog

In June and August, Sabre blog was as active as ever. Our experts provided us, as usual, with insightful articles on a wide variety of topics. See for yourself:

• Joanna Polek gathered her insights about yet another semester of Quality Assurance in IT Projects at the Wydzia? Fizyki i Informatyki Stosowanej AGH (AGH University of Krakow ), also known as Sabre Academy. She also asked Katarzyna Nowakowska and Patrycja Popielarczyk , her new co-lecturers, for their thoughts on the course. All that is summed up nicely in this article .
• Jakub Ryzner wrote thoroughly about understanding sales data and, simply, making personal travelling easier. You don't have to be planning a trip to the Super Bowl at all to find Jakub’s article helpful. No matter your next travel destination, read the article here .
• Marian Mróz wrote on the importance of high-quality APIs. His article contains an insightful recap of steps made by Sabre to optimize API integration .
• Micha? Poliński described in detail how the massive potential of merging Air Shopping and Air Booking datasets made it such an exciting challenge. How did our team manage to navigate such an ocean of data? Find out for yourself.
