Here we recap all the LinkedIn tea for you in one place. Needless to say, October had quite some of it.

Enjoying office life

Autumn might make you think of cold days, but we like to warm up the atmosphere. That is why we have spent the last month deepening our relationships.

• Right at the start of October, our office life became incredibly comfy thanks to our Ways We Work approach, which helps us connect and compete. In the very first days of September we had coffee with our leaders, a pub quiz, an Office Game, Movies & Photo Contest, and a concert by Sabre Music Band.It was a ton of fun, check it out! ?
• Safety rules are incredibly important, and our team wanted to give a good display of it, which is why we also released an office instructional video. Once again cheers to this production’s stars: Kinga Borycka, Magdalena Gondek, Anna Micek, Marta Waligorska, Marian Mróz, Grzegorz Surma, Pawe? Szonecki, Wojciech Korzenny.

Visits, Workshops, and wonderful possibilities

Our office was buzzing with life not only at the start of October, but throughout the entire month – and we mean it.

• We held the Future GenAI Workshop – three intense days dedicated to mastering GenAI all the way through. Over 350 attendees joined us for this inspiring event made possible by our top notch partners: Google, Infogain, Coforge, and SoftServe. Once again thanks to their dedicated and brilliant representatives: Maria Kabacinska, Magda Rabiej, Krystian Sperka, and Sabre’s Wojtek Gworek and Sebastian Inglot.
• Our Kraków team had the pleasure of hosting Virgin Australia representatives, following Virgin Australia and Sabre Corporation’s cooperation to launch the next-gen retail platform, #SabreMosaic. It’s a great partnership and our time together certainly helped everyone see all the exciting possibilities!
• Sabre Ascenders Community organised an inspiring meeting with Cezary Zminkowski, where he talked about understanding your potential and developing your career. Bartosz Wilk did an amazing job leading the talk.
• Speaking of Communities, in October we also celebrated Communities Day. Three engaging discussion panels took place, where Wojciech, Anna and Pawe? shared some interesting insights into Communities of Practice, Inclusion Groups, and Sports Clubs, respectively. The event wouldn’t be nearly as fantastic if it wasn’t for its organizers: Marek, Sabina, Miko?aj, Magdalena, Bartosz.

Flying high together

Just like we wrote above, at Sabre we always emphasise how contributing to the Community and teaming up can make things satisfying like nothing else. Often it means that it’s our team members who pay visits, that's why matter how nice our office is, we often step outside and get on the road.

• In October, Infogain Poland, one of our incredible partners, had its 5th anniversary, and quite a few Sabre leaders attended the celebration. An insightful debate was also held, where Wojtek Gworek joined the discussion on artificial intelligence. It was an amazing afternoon with some absolutely incredible atmosphere!
• Wojtek Gworek also visited the Cavalry Captain Witold Pilecki State University of Ma?opolska in O?wi?cim to receive an official thank-you from the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Promotion after new IT labs established with the help of Sabre were just opened. Our fingers are crossed for many talented students at the university making great use of them!
• Our team members shared some great thoughts during JDD 2024, one of the top Java conferences. Bartosz Wieczorek talked about high performing distributed code in the cloud and how atomic habits that help accelerate application processing and cut cloud costs. Szymon Sadowski, whose many insights you have probably seen on our blog, covered making the choice between monorepo and polyrepo.

The journey of our Summer Interns

As Summer Internship finished at the end of September, in October we celebrated our Interns’ brilliance and ambition. Once again huge congrats to all of them and thanks to every mentor, coordinator, speaker and supporter who made this experience awesome for our young talents. Keep rocking it!
