With Christmas just around the corner?we're reflecting on the past few months. We opened a new office in Reading, and are really excited to grow the team and build on the existing success of ALP,?we've welcomed lots of new faces, we're working on our new website which will launch early in 2023?and we're working on some really exciting projects with new and existing clients.?We're all just about ready for a nice break over Xmas!?

Abley Letchford Partnership opens new office in Reading

In September we opened our new office in Reading.

Leigh Abley says “When Shaun and I first formed ALP in 2014 we wanted to find a new way of delivering development and infrastructure consultancy which really focussed on our Clients’ needs and also provided a more exciting environment for our staff.?Over the last 8 years we have grown from strength to strength and are now expanding our office network.?Our presence in Reading will be led by Paul Jenkin who recently joined ALP from Stantec.”

Paul Jenkin says “I spent most of my career at Peter Brett Associates based in the Reading offices and?recognise what an exciting and?vibrant place it is.

I am really excited to be based here again and look forward to catching up with former clients and colleagues.?I joined ALP to get back to an environment where individuals are really recognised and there are great prospects for personal development.?We have some excellent opportunities for transport consultants, civil engineers and flood consultants to join us at all levels both here in Reading and in Hungerford.?Feel free to drop in for a chat.”

Project?case study - Rustington Golf Centre, Littlehampton

Abley Letchford have been pleased to assist Barratt David Wilson Homes in achieving two positive Planning Appeal decisions, in respect of their proposed residential developments at Rustington Golf Centre, Littlehampton.

ALP have provided both Highways and Flood Risk / Drainage advice to the client team throughout the project from initial site feasibility through planning and onto the Appeal.??

?However, ALP’s work, and collaborative approach with the local highway authority, was able to demonstrate that suitable pedestrian and cycle connections could be achieved across the A259 corridor and that the development proposals would not have a detrimental impact on the network.?As such, highways was able to be removed as a topic at Appeal prior to the Inquiry sitting.

Congratulations to BDW and the wider project team on this great result, which will allow the delivery of much needed housing on the South Coast.?We look forward on working on the detailed design to allow the site to come forward for delivery.

Danny's London Marathon

A huge WELL DONE goes out to Daniel Simmons, who completed the London Marathon in October.?

His time was 4hrs 53 mins, so clearly all his hard work and dedication to training over the last few months was worth it.

Danny says “I really enjoyed it, and?whilst I was glad to see the finish line, I definitely want to sign up for another marathon soon”.?

Danny raised ￡3,140 for his chosen charity Meningitis Research Foundation?and completely smashed his fundraising target of ￡2,000 reaching!?

ALP Christmas Bake Off

We held our inaugural Christmas Bake Off this week, and everyone made the most of sampling some lovely treats!?

The entries were:

• Victoria sponge cake - Charles
• Nutella Christmas tree - Libby
• Mince pies with a crumble topping - Susie
• Lemon polenta biscuits - Alex

Bakes were scored according to presentation, flavour, smell and creativity.

The MINCE PIES won, closely followed by the Nutella Christmas Tree!?
