Celebrating our incredible Youth Board members on International Women's Day ??
A core element of our work at London Youth is providing accessible and inclusive opportunities for more young Londoners. Over half of our member youth organisations (56%) are led by women and we know that grassroots youth organisations play a vital role in supporting the future of London's young women and girls.
This International Women's Day we asked three of our Youth Board members about women who inspire them and why it matters that young people's voices are included in policy making.
Huge thanks to Hanna, Tumi and Elizabeth for sharing their thoughts with us!
How our patron His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh is inspiring young Londoners ??
Last month we were delighted to welcome our patron His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh to one of our member clubs, The Salmon Youth Centre in Bermondsey, to see how they’re inspiring young Londoners and providing essential support to young people.
The Duke heard first-hand from youth professionals from across our membership on the topic of workforce development within youth organisations and met young people benefitting from the club’s activities.

BORN AMBITIOUS ??
Born Ambitious is a new network of Ambassadors designed by London Youth to inspire young people. We platform Londoners of the global majority from a variety of sectors and careers. Find out more about the programme here.
Meet Andreas Odysseos, a young Londoner and a Born Ambitious Ambassador.
Andreas is a young professional working in real estate investment, and now a Born Ambitious ambassador. His motivation and ambition are contagious. This is a young man who has worked hard for his successes and who is grateful for every opportunity along the way.
He moved to the UK at 10 years old and describes his transition to life in London as one of the major milestones in his journey so far. It presented him with fresh challenges at a young age, something that many young Londoners we work with will relate to.

“I was born in Uganda and grew up in the capital, Kampala. I have family and friends who I'm still in contact with over there – I've not been back for a while as I'm constantly busy, but I hope to visit again soon.
We invited four young Londoners to read Andreas's story and share their reactions and reflections on the emotions it evoked:
“A story like Andreas’s kind of symbolises what London is: the hard work, the persistence, how it’s realistic as well... So it just inspired me to keep working hard and achieve my goals.”??
