Royal Academy Summer Exhibition
Burlington House, London
18 June - 18 August 2024
For over a decade and a half, the Nubuke Foundation team and our dedicated collaborators have been making a profound impact on the community of artisans in the Upper West region.
One of our proudest achievements is our ongoing collaboration with the Wa Methodist School for the Blind's vocational institute. Through this partnership, we provide technical training, design, dyeing, and entrepreneurial skills to support and empower the students.
These artworks resulted from a collaboration between Mr. Samuel Abusi Adjei, a furniture weaver, and the students from the Wa Methodist School for the Blind. We are immensely proud of their creativity and hard work.
You can see the remarkable chairs at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, from 18 June to 18 August 2024. These beautiful pieces are also available for sale.

Nubuke Foundation is thrilled to introduce the second edition of our Artist in Residency programme in Wa. We present Claude Yannick, our first artist in resident for the year 2024.
Claude-Yannick Driatehe Guei, also known as Pitcho, is an emerging Ivorian artist currently based in Accra, Ghana. Born in 2001 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Pitcho is a self-taught artist who works within the surrealist movement. His art primarily explores two themes: myths from his culture and extraterrestrial phenomena. By combining these subjects, he creates a transcendent body of work.
During his residency, Pitcho aims to immerse himself in the culture and traditions of the Wa community, conduct workshops, network with other artists, and conclude with an exhibition of the works he creates during this period
