Trustee News
At the end of April, the IFoA Foundation team said goodbye and thank you to two Trustees who have been there from the charity's launch in 2020. Chair, Kartina Tahir Thomson?is moving to the role of President-Elect of the IFoA and Lyndon Jones has stepped down after serving a three-year term. Both have contributed a huge amount to the development of the Foundation and we?are grateful for all their energy, vision, ambition, wisdom and hard work.?
Thank you to everyone who has applied for the Trustee vacancies. We're excited to?find out who will join us in due course.?
Mahidhara Davangere South Asia Scholars 2023 Announced
15?students from IFoA partner universities in South Asia have been awarded Scholarships to support their journey to IFoA qualification.?
These?awards?celebrate and honour the life of our dear friend and colleague Mahidhara Davangere, who sadly passed away in 2021, by supporting the most promising actuarial students in India who need financial assistance to continue their education. The scheme was established by a major gift from Founding Patron, Bhargaw Buddhdev and other generous donations from the actuarial community, in memory of Mahidhara.?
Good Luck to London Primary School pupils competing in Count on Us?
76 schools from 22 London boroughs have been taking part in heats for this exciting maths challenge in May. The Mayor's Fund for London say "A big thank you to the Foundation for your ongoing support of our work. It is helping us make a considerable impact on the educational experience of thousands of children in London!"?

Actuaries of Tomorrow UK Undergraduate Scholarships open for applications
In partnership with the Worshipful Company of Actuaries Charity we are launching a new programme designed to give sustained support to?the best performing students?studying on #ifoa accredited undergraduate programmes in the UK who are in need of financial support.
We are working with university partners to identify suitable applicants and look forward to meeting many aspiring #actuaries as part of the process.?
Volunteer as a role model and share your career experience with school students
We support Maths4Girls which connects teachers with professionals who use maths in their career to inspire and inform school pupils (girls and boys!). With the number of?girls studying maths beyond GCSE decreasing, it's important they have positive role models to relate to. It's a flexible way to try volunteering?to suit your schedule.?Sign up now.
New CSEA Scholars Celebrate Awards
Congratulations to the 22 actuarial graduates?from IFoA partner universities in #China, #HongKong, #Singapore and #Malaysia that have won?CSEA Scholarships recognising their outstanding academic performance. These future leaders have received their awards at local ceremonies over the previous week.?
We are gathering stories from the winners to share with the many generous donors to the CSEA Fund so look out for photos and feedback on our LinkedIn soon.?
