Time Management

Not surprisingly, the phrase ‘time management’ is used frequently in the early years sector; we work in an industry which is infamous for its time constraints with so many practitioners striving to make those precious hours in one day go a little further. Simply put, time management is the ability to use one’s time effectively, or productively, especially at work.

One thing is certain, time management is a vital skill for early years practitioners and educators who wish to spend more of their working day in a hands-on role with children.?

Plunging into Pedagogy

Tuesday 19th September 2023, 10.00am

There is no Parenta webinar during the month of August, but we are back in September with “Plunging into Pedagogy”!

As early years educators, we are aware that, within their learning environment, children's development, behaviour and relationships are supported by several pedagogical approaches (sometimes combined), which focus on active learning, play-based activities and holistic development. Gina Bale and fellow educators will unpack methods and practices used and help us understand how we can engage our teams and encourage parents to get involved with our approaches.

Why engage your senses for learning?

You are creating an engaging learning environment, you have a theme, you have keywords or sounds laminated and displayed around the place, there is the opportunity to mark-make provided, and toys are dotted about to support your topic, why think sensory?

Of course, you already have so much that could be considered sensory. I should be clear from the start that I need two?sensories: sensory – as in the everyday world that we can see and touch and smell and so on, and SENSORY – that extra special, something extra, and a bit wonderful sensory, which is what I am talking about in this article. I will not keep shouting at you with capital letters, so please presume that from now on it is that second SENSORY that I am discussing.
