5 things you must know in A.I this week

1)?ChatGPT comes?with a human cost .

An investigation by TIME has revealed that the popular OpenAI chatbot ChatGPT was built by underpaid and psychologically exploited workers in Kenya who were subjected to graphic sexual content while cleaning the chatbot of dangerous hate speech and violence. The workers were paid low wages and felt that their jobs were "mentally scarring" and a certain kind of "torture." The investigation raises ethical questions about the use of human-based content moderation in AI development and its impact on workers.

2)?Why is Google slow to respond to ChatGPT?

Google may launch its own chatbot, Sparrow, in response to the success of ChatGPT. Sparrow is currently in beta development and is said to be more helpful, accurate, and harmless than its competitors. However, the release date is uncertain and there is a lot of competition in this field.

3)?Wordtune Spices claims to be the best in assistive writing

AI21 Labs, an Israeli startup, has developed Wordtune Spices, an AI-powered assistive writing tool that suggests options that change the voice and style of already written sentences, also offering up statistics from web-based sources to “strengthen arguments.” Wordtune Spices cites its work for each tidbit of information it presents, providing users with links back to the original sources, and it is designed to address a wide array of use cases, from writing essays and working on blog posts to drafting financial reports.

4)?What is Generative AI?

Generative AI is a technology that uses machine learning algorithms to generate new data that resembles the input data. The main techniques used in generative AI are GANs, Transformers, and Variational Auto-Encoders. These models are used in various applications such as computer vision and natural language processing, but there are concerns about data privacy and potential misuse.
