OxLEP Programme: West Oxfordshire Business Spark

The West Oxfordshire Business Sparks programme will help people to start their own successful business. We will be running three cycles of support through to February 2025.

What's included:

  • A series of ‘West Oxfordshire Business Spark’ webinars to explain the offer (project activities) to interested individuals and entrepreneurs.
  • A 1-2-1 on-boarding meeting to answer questions, build participant confidence and register on the project.
  • A branded course handbook containing all materials and a brochure on the team to support the entrepreneurs and businesses.

A final celebration event will be planned and delivered in February 2025 involving all supported entrepreneurs.

UK IPO Launches New SME Financial Support Scheme, IP Advance

IP Advance is a tiered funding programme?designed to provide the right support to?SMEs?at the right stage in their innovation journey.?It provides targeted advice and support to help businesses better understand their IP,?develop an IP strategy, and where appropriate, support to implement that?strategy.

There are two levels of support available, and applications can be submitted at any time. Businesses can apply for one or both levels of funding. ?

Raising Money With a Pizza & Raffle Event?at Harwell Innovation Centre

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in our recent event at Harwell Innovation Centre, the turnout was truly extraordinary, and it was a delight to share pizza while supporting a meaningful cause.

The raffle was dedicated to one of our customers Will from?AgaMatrix?who is undergoing treatment for Glioblastoma Multiforme, a grade 4 brain tumour. We are thrilled to announce that as a Centre we raised an impressive £1,280 to contribute to Will’s treatment, thank you all for your generosity and support!

Rural Cherwell Businesses to Benefit From Grants up to £20k

OxLEP Business will be delivering Cherwell District Council’s Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) Business Grant Scheme – a new fund that aims to back capital projects for rural-based small businesses in the Cherwell area, providing?grants ranging from £5,000 to £20,000 per application.

The 21st October grant scheme launch webinar will support those with an interest in applying for a grant to find out more, plus gain guidance on how to apply as well as how decisions around the allocation of grants will be made.

vEM Technology Forum

21st - 24th?October

The inaugural?Volume EM Technology Forum?will be hosted by the Rosalind Franklin Institute at the ESA Conference Centre on Harwell Campus.

The three-day conference will focus on sharing and, hopefully, resolving technical issues, as well as fostering the volume EM community. Attendees can expect technical presentations, posters, and panel discussions, as well as hardware and software demo lounges and social activities.

Defibrillator Awareness Training

3rd &?21st?October, 14:30 - 15:30

Wood Centre for Innovation

WCFI is offering two Defibrillator Awareness Training sessions for customers. These life-saving sessions will cover Primary Survey, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), safe use of a defibrillator and awareness of your unit, and the Recovery Position.

At the end of both sessions participants will receive a First Aid summary card and wristband.
