Welcome to the October edition of our Zodiac Maritime newsletter

Welcome to the October edition of our Zodiac Maritime newsletter

It’s been a busy time for us at Zodiac Maritime - ?after our Officers Seminars in Mumbai last month, we kicked off October with our Crewing team travelling to Varna to host our second round of Officers Seminars for the year. To name some other highlights this month, our Training & Development team went to meet some of our cadets and we marked World Maritime Day by launching our lunchtime talks Autumn series with an interesting presentation from our QHSE team.

Mumbai and Varna Seminars

We recently recommenced our officers' seminars for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.' The seminars addressed the current challenges in the maritime industry, emphasizing on leadership, health, safety, wellbeing, innovation, best industry practices, and future opportunities. It was great to all be together in person once more and fostered a sense of unity working together as one team, towards one common goal, despite being spread all across the world. The seminars were held in Mumbai and Varna, engaging over 200 officers from various countries, and were deemed a great success, addressing issues, opening up dialogue and sharing exciting news. Keep an eye out for more on our seminars taking place in 2024.

World Maritime Day Celebrations

At London HQ, we marked World Maritime day by learning about the history of Zodiac Maritime, took stock of our successes, and then heard about what World Maritime Day is and why it is important, before hearing from Sandeep Chatterjee and Javier Nieto-Guarasa on the QHSE team about how we are aligning with industry goals to become ever more energy efficient. How did you celebrate?

Cadet Open Days

Our Crew Training & Development team have been getting to know some of our current cadets. Here, Jonathan Gillespie Training & Development Officer, is with a cadet at the City of Glasgow College. Jon said “It was wonderful to speak to so many people with passion and enthusiasm for a career at sea and hopefully pass on the many benefits of our successful cadet programme... I look forward to watching their progress and journey to becoming qualified officers.”
