Lukas Schindler from the Universit?t Wien joined the Schl?gelhofer lab at the Max Perutz Labs Vienna to unravel the mechanism and regulation of meiotic DNA double strand break formation in plants.

Saskia?Kowald from Link?ping University and University of Applied Sciences Vienna joined the lab of Moritz Gaidt at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) to study guard-activation of inflammatory cell death pathways in innate immunity.

Robert Collison from Oxford University joined the Silvia Ramundo lab at the Gregor Mendel Institute to develop a forward genetic screen in Arabidopsis, aimed at the discovery of components of the chloroplast unfolded protein response in land plants.

Elisabeth Pottendorfer from the Universiteit van Amsterdam joined the lab of Anna Obenauf at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) to study mechanisms of metastatic cancer.
