Welcome to a New Era for The Change-up

Happy Wednesday!?

Today marks a new beginning for The Change-up. Thank you to all the old and new readers who make writing this newsletter worthwhile. Reading a publication for news is placing trust in an author, and I don't take that lightly. As this newsletter evolves, I hope you'll stick around to see it through.?

When I started this newsletter in 2022, my son Brooks was less than a month old. I was just finishing up my third year at McCall & Associates and trying to find a way to market my services in a fresh and valuable way. Out of that idea came a weekly public service announcement sharing market news, financial strategies, and bad jokes. Again, I'm thankful for the readers who have stuck around.

The newsletter has evolved organically over the last two and a half years. Now, it's going to shift strategically.?

As I've grown as a professional, I've naturally shifted from a "general practitioner" of financial planning to an advisor serving business owners who want to exit within the next 10 years and leave a legacy. This work includes consulting to prep businesses for sale, helping owners find their "exit number", connecting buyers, and providing holistic financial planning post-sale. I love this work. It's fulfilling and natural for me.?

While I continue to serve individuals and families (and always will), my growth focus is centered on business owners, specifically those looking to exit within the next 10 years and leave a legacy.?

Therefore, this newsletter must evolve to replicate this work.?

Moving forward, this space will be a monthly publication aimed at adding value to business owners with an exit need. It will move from Mondays to the first Wednesday of the month. Some sections will remain (Quote/Market News), and some sections will be added (Story Time/Q&A).?

Now, to address something important: If you're reading this and you aren't a business owner, don't hit the unsubscribe button just yet. I'd encourage you to give the revamped newsletter a chance. I think you'll still find lots of value in this new format.?

With that, I'll sign off. The first newsletter will be in your inbox on Wednesday, 3/19. Until then, keep learning, loving, and leading.?
