Tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m a local Canberran who grew up playing rugby union for Canberra Grammar and Marist College, and I’m still a massive fan of the sport. Following family tradition, I completed Years 11 and 12 at Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview in Lane Cove, Sydney. After school, I pursued a career in health and fitness, working as a personal trainer and sports massage therapist while studying exercise physiology at university. I transitioned into recruitment in 2023 after numerous chats with successful friends in the industry, and I've been enjoying it ever since. I’ve developed a passion for technology, particularly in the Defence industry, and I’m excited to contribute to our clients and projects to the best of my ability. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my kids, training in the gym, and playing the piano. I've been a concert pianist since the age of 13, raising over $250,000 for a school in Durban, South Africa, by selling CDs of my original compositions and performing internationally.

What part of your new role within Informatech are you most looking forward to?

I’m most looking forward to engaging with our federal government clients to help deliver critical projects. So far, the company has delivered 90 Defence projects, with 35 more ongoing, which is exciting to be a part of. I’m also eager to learn in-depth about testing and the Defence industry.

You have extensive experience in various areas; what do you think will help you succeed in your role?

Throughout my career, whether as a recruitment consultant or in the health and fitness industry as a personal trainer and massage therapist, a common thread has been my commitment to client-focused service. At Informatech, I believe this experience will be highly relevant. Understanding the nuances of client pain points and the complexities of their projects allows me to approach recruitment with a strategic mindset.

What qualities or skills do you think have helped you succeed in your career?

A few key qualities and skills have really helped me along the way. I’ve always been client-focused—I make it a point to truly understand what clients need and what challenges they’re facing, which allows me to deliver solutions that hit the mark. I also rely on my analytical mindset to break down complex problems and figure out the best approach, whether that’s matching the right candidate to a project or tackling specific client requirements (previously in a physical health context). Good communication is something I value highly; I believe that clear, open dialogue goes a long way in building trust and making sure everyone’s on the same page. I’ve also found that being adaptable has been a huge asset, especially when shifting between different industries and roles. It’s all about learning quickly and applying what I know in new contexts.

How do you want to see your role impact Informatech over the next 12 months?

Over the next 12 months, I aim to make a significant impact by expanding our team in testing services. I want to immerse myself in Informatech's key projects and client needs to ensure we’re bringing in the right talent to drive these efforts forward. I’m excited to contribute to a positive company culture and will most likely attempt to get my head around Defence and dive deep down the rabbit hole.
