Here we grow again.

Our aim to be your go-to Benjamin Moore retailer has been keeping us busy. It’s only been a few months since our last growth spurt, jumping this summer from twenty-two stores in the Pacific Northwest to now twenty-eight, and the possibility of a twenty-ninth hovers just beyond the horizon. We know it can be easy to lump companies with multiple locations into the same category. Some might assume we’re cold and corporate. Others might think we’re a franchise. The truth of the matter is that back in 2006 a guy named Jim Mallory decided to take a chance and bought a paint store, overnight becoming the owner of a small business and now here we are, just a bunch of people who love where we work and what we do.

What is Mallory Paint Store?

We’re what’s called an Independent. This means we’re not owned by a large company, we don’t have affiliations with box stores. For a long time we were the little guy grinding day-in and day-out, sticking to the values we believe in: Customer Service, Premium Products, Family Owned companies, and of course Benjamin Moore paint. Now we’re a little bigger which makes us more capable of supporting not just the little guys, but the big guys too; painters and contractors who care about being the best of the best, who know that the products they use make a difference when it comes to results. We also work with homeowners, designers, HOA’s, renters, hobbyists, muralists—anyone who needs solid advice from local experts (that’s us) about anything paint.

With over 140 years in the industry they’ve spent a lot of time identifying what people are looking for when they pick up a can of paint and to this day they’ve been perfecting their products. When it’s time to paint people come into our stores they’re looking for products with great coverage and excellent durability. They can choose from an outstanding collection of thousands of beautiful colors, and when they leave they’re leaving with a coating that will stand the test of time.

Who shops here?

Painters can be an interesting bunch. They are skilled, experienced, patient, friendly, creative, motivated, and diverse. Many painters in this region have unique backgrounds, some born locally and some travelling a long way to get here. Some knew they would paint from the moment they picked up a paint brush while others fell into the trade by accident and decided to stay. When you visit our stores you will often find the best painters inside, picking up a few gallons of their favorite Benjamin Moore paint and probably a cup of joe. The best painters are regulars at Mallory Paint Store because they regularly choose the best for their client’s projects. They care about what they put on your walls because to them it’s more than just another coat of paint, it’s their livelihood: it’s their name. They have good reputations to uphold. So do we. Our reputations begin with a good can of paint.

Who is Mallory Paint Store?

Earlier we mentioned our charismatic, fun-loving, fearless leader Jim Mallory who owns our stores. Jim is a very present owner engaged in all aspects of business. He’s often out visiting painters and stores and he isn’t afraid to jump behind the counter. He even makes a few appearances on television now and then! Jim is surrounded with a like-minded team who are deeply invested in their roles within the company. They’ve put in a lot of time and work to further the company and the people it supports, employees and customers alike. The employees of Mallory Paint Store are extremely special, dedicated, caring folks, each making themselves a good place in Team Mallory. That’s what we call ourselves. Team Mallory. Because everything we do to improve the company is something we’re doing for each other.
