Welcome to the Life Work Revolution.

Welcome to the Life Work Revolution.

“The people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones who do”?Steve Jobs

The start of a Revolution

Wow, I’m so excited to write this first post and to welcome you to this new project.

The idea of The Life Work Revolution??came to me in the early hours of the morning a few months ago. As happens with the best ideas, it was downloaded to me. I went into my office at about 3am and before I knew it, the walls were covered with post it notes and it was all mapped out.

Then I sat on it. I prevaricated. I asked myself if I could make it work. I did what we tend to do when something is mission-led, personal and meaningful for us, I tried to talk myself out of it.

You see I know this is a big thing. I know that this is here to create massive change in the world. I know that I am here to create big change in the world. Do you know this too?

Why me?

I should mention for those who don’t know me, that I have spent the last 20 years as a coach, mentor and facilitator to high-achieving visionary Founders and senior leaders in major FMCGs. The clients I have attracted and love to work with have been the visionaries, the disrupters, the changemakers, the rebels. Those who are not just about being financially successful but are driven by creating positive impact. Those who, like me, know they are here to do big things.

The Life Work Revolution? has also always been in my DNA in some form. For many visionaries and revolutionaries I know, their mission originated from an early age. This was certainly true for me. As a child growing up in a lower-middle class Northern household I didn’t understand the messages that I was given. That life was hard. That we were meant to just knuckle down to survive. That you don’t get anything without hard work. That you were meant to slog in a job for the majority of your life so you could eventually retire and have fun for a few years! I can remember even as a small child this didn’t make sense. I would think to myself, why wouldn’t we create lives where we were happy and where we loved every day?

So, that’s been my mission. Especially in the last 20 years, to live every day as if was my last. To do work that I love and that fulfils my soul. To have beautiful relationships and those I love around me. Basically to wring every ounce of joy out of this thing called life.

What is The Life Work Revolution??

My vision is to revolutionise how we live and work.??

My mission is that this is a catalyst for a life and work revolution so that living joyful, fulfilling, meaningful lives becomes the norm.??

I want to create a movement and communities of changemakers and revolutionaries who want to create their lives differently and change the world.??

This post is the very first step on this journey. I will also be delivering this through speaking, a podcast, a you tube channel and probably more things that I haven’t envisaged yet. I will be bringing my own expertise and also interviewing experts in the fields of wealth, health, spirituality, relationships, education, lifestyle and work.??

I will personally lead the revolution in business working with visionary Founders who are committed to changing the world through their businesses.??

Why now?

So much of how we live and work needs to change.

We have lost faith in a lot of the traditional institutions. Our education system is still geared to producing robots to work in factories. In health, we focus on symptom based remedies rather than holistic, whole-person approaches. In wealth, there is still the majority of money tied up with the privileged few. In work there are so many people still working for the pay cheque.

But times are changing. And it is time for a revolution. If you are spiritual you will have become aware of a global awakening, a rise in collective consciousness. But even if this isn’t your bag, you will notice that the desires and aspirations of our new generations are shifting. The generations coming into work now aren’t prepared to sacrifice their souls for work, they want to work in partnership with others and have meaning and purpose in what they do.

Covid shifted our perspectives radically. It made us refocus on what is really important and, despite a loss of freedom, it also made us crave a more flexible, unstructured way of life where we can live and work flexibly.

The rise of digital products and AI also signal a radical change. For the first time, everyone can live to their passions and become an entrepreneur will low start up costs.

I see all of this as positive. A way for us to reconnect to what we want from life, the impact we want to have and to consciously create our lives for the good of ourselves, others and the planet.

I look forward to exploring all of this with you. Please also do share this if you know other visionaries and revolutionaries you feel it would resonate with. When we make individual change we create ripples, when we do so in a collective we create waves.
