Algeco Offsite secures additional £11m with MOJ?
Our offsite team has just secured a further 175 Rapid Deployment Cells (RDC) from the MoJ (Ministry of Justice), deemed as Wave 3 of the RDC programme.??
This is excellent news for our Offsite business and is an additional £11m on top of the already secured £33m of RDC orders.?
Wave 3, which is an extension to the current contract, was awarded to Algeco because of the successes we have achieved in delivering Wave 1 and 2a.?
The initial order for £33m comprised of Wave 1 (396 units across several locations) and Wave 2a (215 units across further locations).?
Our Algeco Cannock offsite facility will manufacture the cells utilising DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) and Lean Manufacturing techniques. We will then install and commission the RDC’s as part of working with the MOJ.?

James Withey, Managing Director at Algeco Offsite, said:
“These are exciting times for our offsite team at Cannock and the wider Algeco business. Wave 3 was awarded to Algeco due to the excellent progress we are making on Wave 1 and 2a.”?
The Rapid Deployment Cells Project was initiated to create a new design that can be quickly deployed to a variety of sites to help meet the short term demands of the prison estate. Discover more about the MOJ contract.

Algeco Smart tech cuts energy usage by up to 30%
Algeco site accommodation and temporary buildings for hire are now available with a package of smart technologies that deliver energy savings of up to a third.
We offer two new solutions;
1. Smart Energy Control+
Provides central control of HVAC and is responsive to environmental conditions and occupancy levels. Indicative energy savings in Algeco cabins and temporary buildings for hire is 20-30%.
?
2. Smart Sockets
These replace standard double sockets and work together with Smart Energy Control+ or separately. When used separately, they achieve indicative energy reductions of 10-20%.
They automatically turn off desk and other sockets out of hours to reduce ‘small power’ wastage. In addition, AI detects wastage and raises alerts, or can even automatically switch off sockets if required.???
Local override at each socket level ensures when power is available when required.?They are suitable for larger sites, typically with large number of office workstations.?
Both Smart technologies are available as an option when customers specify our ‘360 Service’.??
Introduction of Smart technology takes conventional energy saving features such as LED lighting, PIR sensors and door closers to another level, unlocking massive energy savings and providing new insights into utilisation and wellbeing for our customers. It does this by using three impressive features: Measurement, Control and Reaction.?
?
Chris Coxon at Algeco said:
“Buildings consume approximately one-third of the world’s energy, primarily through heating, lighting and ventilation. Our Smart technologies make a giant leap in tackling some of this wasted energy, in a way that simply wouldn’t be possible with traditional HVAC settings.?
When customers choose Smart Technology via Algeco’s 360 Service, they receive high quality, temporary spaces that are super reactive to their environment. That means temperature, humidity and occupancy monitoring are all finely tuned to save energy whilst maintaining the comfort and wellbeing of occupants. Advanced diagnostics enable customers to easily see the effect this has on their bottom line through reduced energy bills.”
?
Algeco Smart technology is integrated with Bluetooth mesh technology and standalone connectivity. Sensors, switches and other hardware then work together locally to reduce wastage. Cloud functionality provides a portal for control and bay by bay monitoring.

World Environment Day
Congratulations to Advanté - Oasis? Welfare’s Finance team for winning the UK round of the Global World Environment Day artwork competition, initiated by our parent company Modulaire Group!?
Their artwork represents the UK in the final round, competing with 23 other countries in the Modulaire family.
Fittingly for World Environment Day, Advante’s Finance team used recycled lollipop sticks and thumbprints from each member to create the colourful leaves. The lollipop sticks signify the resources and materials from our natural environment, highlighting nature's importance in sustaining our lives and providing materials for everyday use.?
The leaves represent diversity, unity and how we all come together to make a positive impact. Each thumbprint represents our unique individuality and the positive impact we can have on the world if we work collectively to achieve our goals.?
Well done Advante’s Finance team!?
We also mustn’t forget about our runner up Paul Nissen, who created an impressive watercolour piece.?
?Pupils design our Wigan biodiversity logo
We’re delighted to announce the winner of the junior category in the UK’s World Environment Day artwork competition; Well done Carter from St. Williams Primary School in Wigan!
He did an incredible job designing a logo for the biodiversity area at our new site on Makerfield Way! Congratulations Carter.
The quality of all the artwork submitted from the pupils at St Williams Primary School – who also visited our new Wigan site in April - shows how much biodiversity means to them.
Reducing our environmental impact has always been an ongoing focus at Algeco, too, and a key part of our growing sustainability agenda.
We will be placing Carter’s design on the biodiversity area at Wigan. Watch this space for more updates.
