Welcome Jimmy Kim!
NDSU Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Business
Here at the Center we are working to inspire the next generation, next research idea, and next community connection.
Originally from South Korea, ‘Jimmy’ Dongwook Kim recently earned a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Pittsburgh. Drawing on his observations in the gaming world, he studied how resource allocation decisions made during a company’s start-up phase affects resource management decisions and profits down the road.
If you’re interested in what he discovered…check out his dissertation paper, "Tension Between Creative and Suits: The Effect of Resource Endowments on Firm Performance." Better yet just swing by Barry Hall and ask Jimmy yourself. His office is located just down the hall from the Center on the third floor in the office tower.
When Jimmy’s not talking about resource allocation decisions or digging into another research project, he likes going to the gym, lifting weights, cooking, and video games. We also have it on good authority that he is a true coffee connoisseur (fancy word for coffee snob).
Fargo coffee shops put on your best brew! We’ll be checking back often to see which local shops top his list. So far…Twenty Below got a thumbs up.
Let’s help Jimmy feel at home. Welcome him to the community and share your favorite local coffee shop in the comments!
Also be sure to try Ladybug Latte when you are in West Fargo. Owned by one of our amazing NDSU Entrepreneurship students! https://www.facebook.com/westfargoladybuglatte
