PLIADES project : AI-Enabled Data Lifecycles Optimization and Data Spaces Integration for Increased Efficiency and Interoperability

In today's digital age, the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics has transformed numerous aspects of our lives. However, with these advancements come challenges, particularly concerning the handling of data. As data becomes increasingly abundant and complex, there is a pressing need for innovative tools to manage it effectively. Without proper data management, organizations are exposed toinefficiencies, inaccuracies, and potential ethical and societal implications. Therefore, there is a critical need to improve how we handle data to harness its full potential while mitigating risks.

The PLIADES Project kicked-off with the ambitious goal of transforming the landscape of AI and robotics over the next three and a half years. With 27 partners from 11 countries, including renowned industrial and research institutions, the project aims to address the challenges surrounding data management. By creating new and better tools, PLIADES seeks to transform data handling from collection to utilization. Effective data management is essential for unlocking the full potential of AI and robotics across various sectors, including healthcare, transportation, and education. By improving data handling processes, organizations can enhance efficiency, accuracy, and innovation. Ensuring ethical, gender, and societal aspects are adequately addressed is a number one priority for building trust and ensuring the responsible development and deployment of AI and robotics technologies. Additionally, complying with regulations at national, international, and European levels is crucial to avoid legal and ethical pitfalls.

COMFORTage | Horizon EU Project : Prediction, Monitoring and Personalized Recommendations for Prevention and Relief of Dementia and Frailty

Did you know that millions of people worldwide suffer from dementia and frailty? These conditions not only affect individuals but also have impacts on their families and caregivers. . The emotional impact can be significant, often leading to feelings of isolation and helplessness. Additionally, managing the financial burden associated with these conditions can exacerbate the challenges experienced by affected individuals and their families. COMFORTAGE, our project, aims to tackle these challenges by developing comprehensive healthcare models for personalized dementia and frailty prevention in Europe. We recently held a successful kick-off meeting in Athens, representing a significant step forward in addressing these debilitating conditions.

Our efforts extend beyond the project's scope. By enabling individuals with dementia and frailty to play an active role in their care, we promote dignity and autonomy. Through personalized prevention strategies, our aim is to delay the progression of these conditions and enhance overall quality of life.

ROSETTA Project EU : Reducing food waste due to marketing standards through alternative market access

Europe generates millions of tons of food waste each year and this massive amount of waste not only represents a significant loss of resources but also has deep environmental, social, and economic implications. Imagine the impact of throwing away perfectly edible food while millions of people around the world struggle with hunger and food insecurity. In addition, food waste contributes to greenhouse gas emissions and exacerbates climate change, further intensifying the urgency of addressing this issue.

In light of this context, the ROSETTA project has launched its effort to address the significant challenge of food waste within the European Union. White Research is in charge of examining the relationship between marketing standards and food disposal practices, with the aim of implementing effective solutions at a systemic level. Central to our approach is the establishment of Multi-Actor Innovation Platforms across Europe, bringing together stakeholders from various sectors to collaborate on innovative strategies for reducing food waste. Our role is crucial in designing and implementing the communication and dissemination strategy. We recognize the importance of raising awareness and engaging stakeholders at every level to drive meaningful change.

DE-CONSPIRATOR: Detecting and Countering Information Suppression from A Transnational Perspective

In recent years, there has been increasing attention on the dissemination of disinformation and fake news, particularly originating from foreign sources such as Russia and China. These nations are recognized for utilizing advanced tactics to control information and influence public perception, both within the European Union (EU) and abroad. Such tactics have the potential to erode trust in democratic institutions and present challenges to national security and societal unity.

The DE-CONSPIRATOR project has been initiated to tackle the issue of information suppression attributed to Russia and China. Through interdisciplinary research, the project seeks to deepen understanding and resilience against foreign information-suppression efforts. By investigating the tactics employed and their consequences, the project aims to equip policymakers, researchers, and the public with the tools needed to effectively combat disinformation and fake news.

HarvRESt project : Harnessing the vast potential of RES for sustainable farming

The HarvRESt project, initiated in Zaragoza, aims to transform farming by integrating renewable energy with sustainable practices to reduce carbon emissions. Agricultural activities, a significant contributor to the global carbon footprint, rely heavily on fossil fuels, posing a threat to food production and environmental health. Central to the project is promoting awareness and collaboration among stakeholders, empowering farmers through education and innovative solutions.

By harnessing renewable energy and exploring financial incentives for sustainable practices, HarvRESt strives to mitigate emissions and enhance agricultural sustainability. Empowering farmers with knowledge and resources further strengthens their ability to implement decarbonization initiatives, fostering resilience and environmental stewardship.
