Safe to Speak Up? Launch Event & Discussion
A report released last fall, “Safe to Speak Up? Sexual harassment in the U.K. film and television industry since #MeToo,” was launched with a panel discussion. The session assessed where the industry stands in dealing with sexual harassment and what steps it needs to take next.
This report, written by Dr. Anna Bull from the University of York, drew on interviews with workers from across the U.K. film and television industries, and documented experiences of sexual harassment at work that have occurred since the 2017 #MeToo movement. Findings reveal that in the intervening years, the U.K. industry is still not fulfilling its legal obligations.
