What is openDBL?
openDBL is a one-step Digital Building Logbook solution that is funded by the European Commission. openDBL intends to integrate multidisciplinary know-how to solve the issues of the current situation. The challenge of the project is to allow, through the development of openAPI, the disposal of openDBL in a unique standardized platform and create useful content, to simplify the workload of the AECO industry.
Project Goals
Institutions and Stakeholders: openDBL brings together a consortium of 13 esteemed partners from Estonia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Romania, and Spain. This collaborative effort involves research organizations, industry experts, and technology providers, all dedicated to advancing digitalization and promoting sustainable practices in the building management industry.
Our Pilot Sites
The openDBL project has selected strategic locations for pilot tests, including Ruvo di Puglia, Italy; Kifissia, Greece; Mislata, Spain; and Dormakaba, Germany. These tests will demonstrate the effectiveness of the digital logbook concept and its potential to improve maintenance practices, optimize facility management, enhance safety compliance, and predict maintenance needs.
With the first pilot test taking place in Ruvo di Puglia, openDBL will tackle the challenge of managing an iconic building with limited documentation, paving the way for standardized approaches in data collection, management, and interoperability. The tests in Kifissia and Mislata will focus on integrating digital locks into the openDBL system, redefining design processes, and improving security and services.
