Over the past year, I have seen some amazing newsletters come across my feed, and while I have always wanted to join the ranks of these brave creators, I struggled to find a topic or arena that wasn't already saturated where I could contribute my voice, resources and information that would actually matter.
If you already follow me, (thanks!) you know I have an extensive career in all things related to Human Resources and People Strategy and while I could certainly write about my experiences as they relate to that field, it feels limiting. Just as all of you are more than the field in which you work, I too am more than a former HR Executive.
Like you, I have many dimensions, passions, frustrations and areas of expertise that fall outside the function of my job title. I believe now, more than ever before we need meaningful connection and bonds built through what we have in common so that we can fully celebrate, encourage and support all the beautiful things that make us unique and different.
So, my dear friends and subscribers, this newsletter is for you, the Executive Woman. You have accomplished more than most, which also means you have faced more challenges, overcome more obstacles and dealt with more ridiculousness than most will ever know. Climbing corporate ranks to achieve what you have achieved is not for the faint of heart and does not come easily or without a price. As women who work, and work hard, we have so many similar challenges, experiences and stories to share. I want to bring these challenges and experiences to the forefront with meaningful and authentic conversation.
Like all of you, I've had enough corporate speak to last 10 lifetimes, enough superficial glossy versions of the realities we face and enough unfair and disproportionate expectations of the illusive "Super Human Woman" that hustle culture and corporate America tries to sell us.
In this bi-weekly newsletter I will be addressing topics like, Burnout, Aging at Work, Executive Isolation, Crafting my Next Chapter and the Female Tax, and so much more, while providing resources and sharing real stories from amazing women, like you!
I want real, I want transparent and I want fun. I want to create something that speaks to all of us, includes and benefits all of us. I will continue to bring forward the unspoken realities and BS many of us have faced throughout our careers and lives. I believe it is in this level of frank conversation and authenticity that we break through to the good stuff, we undo decades of conditioning to fit a certain mold and we collectively set the path forward for ourselves and the next generation of amazing executive women who will be leading our organizations and our world.
We are not alone on this journey and I believe in the power of community and there is no greater community than that of determined women. We are Executive Women...we are women who mean business!
