Welcome to the February Edition of Hot Stuff from Firechief? Global

?It's been a busy start to 2025?so, grab yourself a brew and let's run through some of January's highlights and what you can look forward to this month

It doesn't seem that long ago that we were wishing you a Merry Christmas, yet here we are with the February edition of our Hot Stuff newsletter.?

While January is a notoriously long month for all kinds of reasons, the team at Firechief? has packed a lot into those 31 days.

We have launched the 2025 catalogue (which remains available to download), we've hosted our first fully accredited CPDs and product webinars of the year, published our carbon monoxide awareness study and launched the new PureSafe range of PFAS-free fire extinguishers - and we're about to start our latest Charity Challenge!?

?? The State of Carbon Monoxide Awareness in the UK

Back in November we commissioned a survey of 2,000 people from all over the UK to find out how much people know and understand about this potentially deadly gas. The results were shocking.

In the study we identified significant knowledge gaps and statistics, including:?

?? 40% of respondents were unaware of the signs and symptoms of CO poisoning

?? 36% were unsure what to do if a CO alarm sounded

?? 27% did not know if they had a CO alarm in their home

??Why DIN SPEC 91489 Matters

We always set high standards for the quality of our products and customer service, and our range of EV fire blankets is no exception to the rule.?

With no previous standard in place, Germany launched the DIN SPEC 91489 for EV fire blankets late last year, and our EV fire blankets have been developed and rigorously tested to ensure they meet the incredibly high requirements of the standard - and we're delighted that they do, making them the only products on the UK market currently certified to this standard.??

You can learn more about the standard, testing process and why DIN SPEC 91489 matters so much in our blog post. Click below to read it ??

??The Latest From the Firechief??Academy

The Firechief? Academy has started 2025 in the same way we finished 2024 - with a very busy schedule.?

Not only have we hosted our first fully accredited CPD courses on Lithium-ion battery fire awareness, we've also launched our very first Podcast series, 'Burning Issues.'

???The first season of the Podcast saw our own Matt Humby chat with three industry professionals from the legal, risk assessment and insurance sectors to understand more about how the threat of Lithium-ion battery fires impacts them on a daily basis.?

Season one may have reached its conclusion but you can catch up on all three episodes on YouTube or Spotify.

?? As mentioned, we also hosted our first CPDs and product webinars of the year in January and we have two more CPD courses coming up on Wednesday 12 February.

??We're Walking for Heart Health This February

This month the Firechief? Head Office and Warehouse teams are coming together for a massive walking challenge in aid of the British Heart Foundation.?

There are currently 7.6 million people in the UK living with heart disease and we're setting out to complete one step for every single one of them!?

That means approximately 7,900 steps per person, per day, throughout February.?

Our goal is to raise £760 to help fund life-saving research and support those affected by heart conditions and we'd love for you to get involved by either donating or walking with us.?

Every step counts and every donation makes a difference. If you can, please donate via our Just Giving page.

That concludes this month's newsletter, but keep your eyes peeled for more product, company and industry news coming your way. We've got plenty of exciting innovations in the pipeline as we continue our commitment to making the world a safer place.
