Welcome ExistX Summer Interns

We are very excited to introduce the newest members of our ExistX team, Jamie Kemp and Noah M. , our summer interns. Enjoy learning a bit about them below!?

Jamie Kemp?

Jamie Kemp is from Cincinnati, Ohio and is a rising Sophomore at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Cybersecurity with a minor in Mathematics. She has participated in multiple cybersecurity challenges such as Cyberstart, the Air Force Association’s Cyber Patriot, and the National Cyber League.? She has earned a TestOut Ethical Hacker Professional certification and is currently working towards her CompTIA Security+ certification.? ??

Her initial interest in cybersecurity was sparked by the cyber classes offered by her high school and, after a few months, she started to love solving the puzzles and challenges that the subject provides.? She also loves that there is always more to learn in this growing and ever-changing field. Jamie is particularly interested in the cyber fields of cryptography, penetration testing, cloud security, and web security.? She has been introduced to cloud security and penetration testing and would like to continue to grow in both of those areas but would love to learn what sets web security apart from similar facets such as the cloud security that she’s already acquainted with.? Cryptography, however, is the topic that she is most interested in and hopes to pursue as her primary career path.???

Jamie is motivated by the idea that?cybersecurity will always be needed and that the things she learns and the challenges that she solves will have impact and make a difference in this world.??

? In her free time, she likes to read, and she is the social media chair for the local chapter of Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS).? Her ideal vacation would be exploring Germany.??

Noah Mann??

Noah Mann was born in Boston, MA but has spent most of his life in Cincinnati, OH.? He is a graduating senior at the University of Cincinnati at the end of this summer.? Noah has participated in many cybersecurity activities outside of the classroom, including Capture The Flag (CTF) events such as picoCTF and other skill challenges like TryHackMe. He also enjoys tinkering with home networks and hopes to try out some advanced proxy services soon.??

Noah has delved into topics such as wireless security, forensics, cryptography, cloud security, penetration testing, and blue team defenses.? He has really enjoyed his time blue teaming in a professional role and red teaming in closed environments in the classroom or at home. In the last year, he was able to learn a lot about RFID technology, hardware hacking, and how everyday devices communicate wirelessly.? He doesn’t feel that he could choose only one niche of cybersecurity that he favors over others as there are aspects of both offensive and defensive security that he really enjoys.?

?Noah believes that cybersecurity has a role in everyone's lives whether they realize it or not, and he derives a sense of purpose and accomplishment from creating a positive impact on others. He feels that there is always something new out there to learn about and enjoys continuous learning, even outside of the classroom.???

Noah’s hobbies include, but are not limited?to, snowboarding, working out, and finding new obsession projects related?to IT.? His dream vacation list: Switzerland, Finland, Japan, and Iceland.?
