On the heels of our recent announcement of hirings and promotions, we are excited to announce a new class of leaders who have joined the Divvy team. Ankit Tanwar joins Divvy as the Vice President of Risk & Risk Operations; Saqi Mehta joins Divvy as the Vice President of Talent Acquisition & Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and Shelby Washington joins as the Vice President and General Manager of Growth Business.?
Together, they bring a wealth of collective knowledge that will further our mission to make homeownership accessible to everyone. Ankit, Saqi, and Shelby will each be leading key pillars to help execute the vision for Divvy put forth by CEO, Adena Hefets. ?
Divvy has grown and continues to grow
The journey to homeownership is one of life’s biggest financial and emotional decisions. This group of leaders demonstrates Divvy’s continued growth and commitment to building a product that serves our customers at the highest level.
To date, nearly half of all Divvy customers successfully qualify for a mortgage and purchase their homes from Divvy, a figure double the rate of our closest competitors. With Divvy, the average customer saves $16,000 toward their down payment and can expect to close on their home within 19 days.?
Divvy will turn to leaders like Ankit, Saqi, and Shelby to help guide the company to continued growth in 2022 and beyond.

Ankit Tanwar - Vice President of Risk and Risk Operations???

As VP of risk and risk operations, Ankit will build and manage frameworks around Divvy’s core product offering which will increase their scalability and reach. He will focus on developing and enhancing the procedures, models, and policies Divvy has in place to ensure the appropriate level of consumer and asset risk in our portfolio is taken. Ankit comes to Divvy with over 15 years of experience and most recently from Stilt where he was the Head of Credit, Risk and Analytics.

Saqi joins Divvy from Cloudera where she was the Global Director, Talent Acquisition & Diversity. Saqi comes to Divvy with over two decades of experience and a track record of success at leading DE&I initiatives and building cross-cultural coalitions for the betterment of company culture and business objectives. At Divvy, Saqi will help build a diverse talent pipeline, and equip Divvy employees with the cultural competency to provide the highest level of service to our customers and colleagues.?

Shelby Washington - Vice President and General Manager of Growth Business

Shelby joins Divvy after three years with NerdWallet where she served as Senior Director & General Manager, leading the Banking, Investing, Taxes & Insurance teams. Shelby will be leading Divvy’s Growth Business team and will oversee the building, launching, and scaling of Divvy's new business lines to help service Divvy customers more holistically. Shelby joins Divvy with nearly 15 years of financial services and fintech experience, and will use her strategic vision to help guide the company into its next chapter.

Divvy continues to add talent
Powered by VP of People, Torie Runzel , Divvy has seen significant growth in key talent areas and has nearly quadrupled in size since 2021 to 270 employees. With an increased focus on diversity, inclusion, and promoting a fully remote workforce in 2021, we are building a team as diverse—and as driven—as our customers. Divvy’s workforce has greater representation for Asian, Black, and Latinx community members when compared with the rest of the tech industry and has doubled Black and Latinx representation since last year. Our ability to work remotely enables Divvy leadership to recruit more effectively - eliminating geographic constraints and allowing the best talent to be matched with each role. As a women-led company, we have greater representation for women across all levels when compared against other tech companies and boasts near gender parity in senior leadership roles.?
