Best Practices for Video

Video on LinkedIn is growing fast and it's a great way to share your expertise and stand out.?

Whether you have helped with this growth or want to this year, here are two tips to keep in mind.

First, remember to keep it short and grab attention quickly. The sweet spot to hold viewers attention is between 30 seconds and 2 minutes.?

We all get scroll happy from time to time so make sure to lead with a hook that will interest viewers and make them stay.?

Hooks can come in different formats, for example…

  • Ask a question that sparks curiosity
  • Share a story to connect on a personal level
  • Start with a common problem that your viewers face
  • Show an eye-catching visual

Depending on the topic of your video and your audience, you may want to play around with the flow of your video to see what formula performs the best.

  • An eye catching illustration is featured that builds anticipation and keeps viewers hooked until the end
  • The video is only 8 secs yet drives home the insight he is sharing
  • Ends the video with a visual CTA driving to deeper sharing in the caption
  • Creative caption with a unique hook and discoveries

  • A bold statement to hook her viewers in within the first couple of seconds

  • Ends the video with a call to action asking viewers to share their opinion
  • Compliments the video with a detailed caption filled with a summary, custom hook and CTA
