Welcome to the Conversation

Welcome to …?????? ?????? ?????????? ????????????????????.?I'm a nonprofiteer-turned-sociologist navigating the entrepreneurial ecosystem, searching for the American Dream.?I ask questions (constantly), and I'm inviting you-- yes, you-- into the conversation to think and solve with me as a shared, joyous, messy, exhilaratingly human community.

  • How do we build the just, thriving communities we all deserve??
  • How do we begin to estimate underestimated founders??
  • How do we expand our knowledge networks and deploy our social capital??

Why "...and the Lived Experience?"

As a social scientist, I adore unnecessarily long titles (the more independent clauses and colons, the better). I actually titled my dissertation "Permanent Supportive Housing for Women and Families in Dallas, TX: Case Study, Service Utilization, and the Lived Experience"-- and the more I learn, the more I'm certain that understanding the lived experience is the foundation for building the world we need. The lived experience rests, sometimes uneasily, at the intersection between public policy and society, theory and practice, and it's an interesting place to be. It's at the heart of who we are, how we are, and how we're allowed to be in society. Lived experience is the X, the life that happens between the margins of larger structural policies and the people, individuals, and groups who live the outcomes and consequences.

Let's talk systemic inequities, building new opportunity structures, and solving for access! There will also probably be pictures of my dog.?
