News & Updates
POSE kick off ??
The POSE team is excited to announce that Jamaica Jones has been hired to serve as the community manager for the POSE effort, and will be based at the University of Pittsburgh as she works within the CKAN ecosystem over the next two years. Work on the project will become much more visible now that Jamaica is joining the project team.
Prior to joining us, Jamaica served as Program Coordinator of the NASA Transform to Open Science (TOPS) Mission, a role through which she also served as the Executive Secretary of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) Subgroup on the Year of Open Science. She has dedicated her career to supporting communities of practice in advancing open science and open data initiatives, and has honed particular expertise in infrastructural solutions. In addition to her professional work, she also sits on the advisory boards of the Center for Open Science Transparency and Open Promotion Guidelines and the National Information Standards Organization National Persistent Identifier Strategy initiatives. She is also a doctoral candidate within the Information Culture and Data Stewardship program of the University of Pittsburgh's School of Computing and Information, with an expected graduation date later this year.
In the fall, the POSE team at the University of Pittsburgh and datHere participated in a required month-long NSF I-Corps training program along with other program grantees. Bob Gradeck at the University of Pittsburgh and Joel Natividad of datHere each wrote about their experiences, which involved conducting a combined 60+ interviews with current and potential CKAN users.
User interface revamp updates
The team decreased the speed in December due to the opportunity of using the festive time to reconnect with friends and family.
Nevertheless there were 4 pull requests opened in ckan/ckan project, 2 of them are merged (#8592, #8600). Current pull requests are for components, while Alex Green prepares first pages/layouts for submission. Most of the work currently happens on frontend side.
