Dear ASBPA Members (and Prospective Members),
Thanks to the tireless efforts of our chartering Board of Directors and Executive Committee, the Central Gulf Coast Chapter of the American Shore & Beach Preservation Association will receive its charter at the upcoming ASBPA Coastal Summit in Washington, DC on March 20, 2018! For those of you attending the Summit, please be sure to attend the Tuesday evening social event where we will celebrate the chartering and other ASBPA national award winners. For your information, the Town of Dauphin Island (AL) will receive one of ASBPA’s Best Restored Beach awards, and Congressman Garret Graves (LA) will receive the “Friend of the Coast” award.
Besides direct email messages, our chapter will use at least two other methods for sharing information and event announcements with members. We have established a rudimentary chapter website that will receive regular updates with relevant information and resources as our chapter grows. We have also established a LinkedIn group. Over one-half of our current members have LinkedIn profiles. If you are one of them, please join the group. Below are links to the chapter website and LinkedIn groups.

We are in the midst of planning our first two official chapter events to coincide with the popular State of the Coast Conference in New Orleans, LA. An informal chapter social event will take place on the evening of Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at a local New Orleans establishment (time and place TBD). A chapter breakfast meeting will take place on the morning of Thursday, May 31, 2018 in New Orleans (time and place TBD). Members will receive additional messages about these times and locations, which will also appear on the chapter website.
Finally, we would like to receive some feedback from our members and prospective members. Please help us by completing the following 10-question survey. It will take you five minutes or less to complete.
