Welcome CAMILLA Karrinyup!
Opening new boutiques is no mean feat in ‘normal’ circumstances, but CAMILLA managed to open two new boutiques – one in Dallas, Texas and the other in Karrinyup, Western Australia – in 2021, the year of long lockdowns.
Karrinyup (derived from the Aboriginal word to describe “kangaroos grazing”) is boutique number 25 for the iconic retailer. Jane McNally, CEO, revealed that the brand had been looking for another site in Western Australia for some time. “We’re very proud to be opening our second boutique in Western Australia,” Jane explains. “The region is very close to our hearts and we’re thrilled we can now offer our loyal and loved WA customers another fully immersive CAMILLA experience. Karrinyup is a spectacular centre and our boutique stylists will be poised with a glass of champagne and a warm welcome for customers stepping into our distinctly decadent world.”
Opening the new boutique was made somewhat difficult due to Sydney’s lockdown as Head Office representatives weren’t able to attend the grand opening last week. Even the State’s Regional Manager, based in Queensland, couldn’t make it due to border closures. This meant that recruitment, IT set-up, shop-fit and stock had to be managed remotely in the week’s leading up to the new centre’s opening. Luckily, the SA and WA border opened up and Sera Sculli, Guardian Angel for SA and WA was able to fly to Perth and support the opening with assistance from the new management team – both the Manager, Allison and Assistant Manager, Libby are established CAMILLA Angels having worked with the brand for a number of years.
Photos from the new boutique show a similar shop-fit to Dallas and Bondi Junction, with the iconic CAMILLA print “wrapping” the walls, floors and counters to create a truly immersive shopping experience. This unique experience continued as guests sipped bespoke cocktails from Republic of Fremantle, shopped with the help of CAMILLA Angels and bopped to the in-house DJ. Even the new custom-made CAMILLA wallpaper was on offer, which is part of the newly expanded homewares range.
Among the many guests who attended the opening weekend were some of WA’s key fashion and lifestyle influencers; Brooke Blurton, Jazmine Hand and David Genat. All enjoyed the opening and modelled multiple new looks from the current collection “Party Like…” which draws inspiration from bygone eras.?
