Welcome to the Browndog newsletter
We’ve blinked, and August has passed us by! It’s been an exceptionally busy month for the whole team, with no sign of slowing down as we enter September - an even busier period for many of our clients.
We’ve got exhibitions, the new academic year and all that comes with it, plus new websites, packaging, and exciting brand identities all on the horizon.
Below is a round-up of our month. We’d love to hear about yours too so feel free to share how the end of summer is treating you before it’s all pumpkins and burnt orange hues!
Content first, or design first?
This week we’ve been discussing the best way to start new website projects. It’s an area we like to think we’re heavily experienced in so we shared this blog to help you understand the benefits of each approach and why we advocate content-first. If you’re planning a new website, we highly recommend giving it a read!
New pouch designs for BlueSky
We work with a number of packaging businesses here at Browndog and we love to see regular innovations, with this latest one coming from BlueSky. The most recent addition to their range is a variety of sustainable pouches, suitable for liquids, powders and solids. This exciting new solution is encouraging clients to become refill-ready and supporting their customers with durable packaging solutions that demonstrate great consumer appeal. Design credit goes to Andrew Parker !
Get to know Michael!
We’ve been getting to know Michael since he joined us in July and he’s already made quite an impression! Michael has a vast array of experience and we’re fortunate to have brought him into the team to help broaden our skillset and expand our PPC service. If you haven’t met him yet, please feel free to reach out and say hello.?

Universal rebrand for Victoria Flooring
We’re delighted to share a preview of our recent branding work for long-time client Victoria. This new Universal rebrand has hit 30 stores and has so far resulted in a significant sales uplift.
Another small brag for our exceptionally talented designer, Andrew Parker. We can’t wait to share more with you soon!
Great SEO results for GK Pro
We recently performed a review of organic SEO performance for our client, GK Pro. We work with GK Pro - a professional cleaning product and biocide treatment manufacturer - to provide regular blog content and landing page updates, keeping them at the top of search engines and improving their visitor experience. We were happy to discover that 70% of their top 10 performing pages were blog articles. In addition to content, we are also working together on a programme of backlinks, which is resulting in an incremental improvement in their overall authority score.?
Demonstrating the importance of understanding audience needs and timing, we published a new blog on how to clean a tent with mould, ahead of the summer months, and found that it quickly ranked amongst their top-performing pages.
Thanks to GK Pro for trusting us with their strategy and well done to Meg for her consistently excellent SEO and content work!
What else?
Congratulations to our Digital Marketing Manager Josh, who celebrated 7 years as part of the team this month!?
We’re also very excited to welcome Kinesys and Caterers Choice to our growing list of clients. Kinesys is part of the global production powerhouse Tait, and will soon begin design and development of a new website with us. Caterers Choice, a family-owned food service business (and fellow neighbour on Bradley Business Park) have entrusted us with their partnership and tertiary brands, supporting them with packaging design for brands such as Pinch of Nom and Bassetts Allsorts.
Finally, we’ve recently begun working with innovative 3D configurator developer, Mimeeq. We’re thrilled to be able to bring this cutting-edge tech to our website clients, enabling them to provide a sleek display of customised products. More on this soon…
