Initially skeptical, Aqa embraced innovative, student focused methods, leading to improved learning outcomes, heightened student engagement, and stronger community ties. His story highlights the transformative potential of empowering educators to drive change from within, even in resource-limited conditions.
Tackling the Root Causes of Severe and Consistent Absenteeism in Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan
Afzal Khan is a teacher at Government Primary School Tushkin, serving the children of a community that migrates twice a year for herding. As a result, the school struggles with severe and consistent absenteeism.?Through leadership and innovation, Afzal Khan and his team have designed a new holistic approach to understand and address worrying levels of absence at his school, creating a model for more resilient education in migratory communities.
