Welcome to August….

Welcome to August…. It was great to see such a strong turnout at our last event even though families, rest and recuperation are every business owner’s priority at this time of year! Business seems to be booming into August for many of you, making up for an unusually quiet May and June in the run up to the election.?

Sadly there’s a lot to be concerned about right now for business as well with all of the unrest of the last few days creating further uncertainty and in some areas huge disruption. It’s extremely worrying to see the role played by our predominantly white owned populist media in fanning the flames. I’m looking at you GB News, Daily Telegraph and X.?

Let’s hope this Government can restore order quickly and then use its huge majority to bring our media into line.

How many kinds of sweet flowers grow in an English country garden…

Gareth and Claire have been busy as ever making our outdoor spaces pretty for our community.? They have been planting nemesia and lobelia plants in tubs outside Martinique House. They have also been strimming shapes into the long grasses and meadow area out the back of Martinique House.? They spotted some lovely wild flowers which they believe to be common catsear amongst the golden yellow ragwort and meadow grasses.? These together with the vibrant purple alliums planted back in September, are a delightful sight, especially appreciated by the bees and butterflies.? Claire and Gareth have also been looking out for our feathery friends, making sure the birdbaths and bird feeders are topped up.
