Welcome aboard!

Hello and welcome to the very first edition of The Talent Track! I’m excited to see you here?? Whether you’re a hiring manager or a job seeker you will find helpful information and resources in this newsletter.

A short intro:

My name is Jose and the last few years I have worked in the world of global recruitment and talent, both in agency and in-house. I would like you to think of The Talent Track as your weekly pit stop for recruitment insights, career guidance, and a whole bunch of helpful tips to keep you one step ahead in the fast-paced world of talent. In pure New Years' goal fashion, I am determined to create a safe place for those trying to assemble an all-star team, or perhaps for those on the hunt for their dream role—either way, we’ll cover it here.

What can you expect:

  • Weekly newsletters: Each week, we’ll dive into a specific area of the recruitment journey—sometimes it might be on crafting better job descriptions, about AI in recruitment, or best ways to look for jobs.
  • Honest advice: Loads of gurus out there trying to sell services already. I am here to try to get recruitment to a transparent place. I’ll share success stories, tales, and proven strategies that can help you boost your hiring game or level up your career moves.
  • Talent community: I wouldn't really like this to be just a monologue. I’d love to hear your feedback, thoughts, and even the occasional friendly disagreement ?? If you’ve got a question or a story to share, hit “reply” any time.

What's in the newsletter today?

In this very first one, let’s set the stage by highlighting a few hiring and career trends we’ll explore in the coming weeks:

  1. Hybrid work: Why it is necessary. How can managers keep their teams engaged—and how can candidates stand out when applying for hybrid/remote roles?
  2. AI in talent: It is changing the way we work and it is important to be updated with the best tools out there to improve your efficiency, whether recruiting talent or applying to jobs.
  3. Employer branding: What does it really mean to have a strong employer brand, and why does it matter for both hiring managers and job seekers?
  4. Soft VS Hard Skills: What hiring managers actually look for (spoiler alert: it is more than just experience), and how you can use that knowledge to excel in interviews or in your own recruitment processes.

Looking ahead...

Next week, we’ll be digging into the evolving hiring landscape in 2025, how economic shifts, emerging technologies, and changing candidate expectations are impacting the way we hire and get hired.

Until then, thanks for coming along for the ride! I hope The Talent Track becomes your trusted source on all things recruitment and career development. If you have any requests, questions, or just want to say hi, don’t hesitate to drop me a line.

Stay curious,

Jose Lazaro
