Welcome to 2025.

Welcome to 2025.

Better late than never, isn't that the saying?

We don't know about you, but we are starting the year off with a bang and trying our best to keep up with the momentum! So, apologies our January newsletter is a bit later than usual.

In this month's newsletter:

-Excited to announce ISO certifications and let our clients know how it impacts them

-Looking for a new career? Interpreting has its perks

-If you have multilingual employees, you may need this service

-Meet Leanne!

First - what is ISO?

ISO, the International Organization for Standardization, brings global experts together to agree on the best way to do anything, from making a product to managing a process.

Second - why is it important?

  1. Trust and Credibility: ISO certifications signal that your organization adheres to internationally recognized standards.
  2. Improved Customer Satisfaction: ISO standards focus on meeting customer requirements and enhancing satisfaction.
  3. Operational Efficiency: ISO certifications often lead to more efficient processes, reducing errors and waste.
  4. Compliance with Regulations: Many ISO standards help ensure compliance with international regulations and industry-specific requirements.
  5. Global Recognition: ISO certifications are recognized worldwide, which can be beneficial if your clients operate internationally.

Third - a quick breakdown of our certifications and how they pertain to The Language Group of companies.

ISO 17100: This is the international standard for translation services. This applies to translation service providers and their processes, resources, and other aspects necessary for delivering quality translation services.
ISO 18587: Specifies requirements for the post-editing of machine translation output. This certification focuses on the process of full, human post-editing of machine translation (MT) output. It ensures that the quality of the post-edited translation is comparable to that of a human translation.

Questions? REACH OUT! We love to talk about our Translation Process and how we can provide the best quality to our current and future clients.

Can Fluency Testing help your business?

Many companies today employ bilingual staff or have plans for global expansion. These businesses may want to utilize employees in customer-facing roles (such as in banks or retail) but need to ensure their language proficiency is sufficient for effective communication. Therefore, they conduct fluency tests to verify their employees' language skills. Fluency testing can be done easily via online tests. Contact us to find out more.

Here are some other reasons for Fluency testing that you may want to consider:

Improved Communication: By assessing employees' language proficiency, businesses can ensure effective communication within the team and with clients, which is crucial for smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Better Recruitment: Fluency tests help in evaluating the language skills of job candidates, ensuring that new hires have the necessary communication abilities for their roles.

Global Expansion: For companies looking to expand internationally, having employees proficient in multiple languages can facilitate smoother market entry and operations in new regions.

Increased Productivity/Less Errors: Clear and effective communication reduces misunderstandings and errors, leading to higher productivity and efficiency.

Customer Service: Employees with strong language skills can provide better customer service, leading to higher customer satisfaction and loyalty.

We are proud of the work we do at TLG and the teams that produce such amazing results. One such human is Leanne Mlincsek (Muh-Lin-check).

Leanne has been with TLG since May of 2023. She started in the role of Account Manager where Leanne supported existing clients accounts, training, and implementation, as well as RFPs. As of this January, Leanne was promoted to Business Development Manager. In this role Leanne looks forward to curating new business by focusing on relationship building (and understanding the pain-points and solutions sought by using interpretation and translation services).

"TLG landed in my lap by fate of an open position, but the match has been one that satisfies my professional goal of always helping others. Working in Language Services has been eye opening not only from the perspective of compliance, but cultural context. My world view has forever been changed by my roles with The Language Group." ?

Leanne says she is "grateful for the opportunity to build not only safe, compliant businesses, but also a more understanding and empathetic community".

And we, are grateful for you Leanne ???????

A lot of great things happening at The Language Group of companies this year!
