What is Community VC?

Community VC is a community of people who:

• Invest in Venture Deals as a living
• Are experts in particular fields/businesses/investing
• Can be talented people who have experience or on-the-ground insights into specific details relevant to particular companies or types of companies and,
• Follow as a broader community looking to learn about startups/venture/investing hoping to participate sooner or later

The community perks:

• ???Insights: Gain insights through our founder and community discussions on live retail and syndicated deals

Why do we exist?

We truly believe we can democratize access to Venture Capital by enabling retail (normal people) and wholesale (people with >$2.5m in net assets) to participate in Community DD to accumulate Carry and Fees in return for providing expertise, insights, and helping the Due Diligence process which in return enables their future participation in Venture as an asset class.

This year our goal is to complete 20 Community Due Dilligence deals with 100+ experts, 400+ talented people and to share with the community of over 7000.

Our traction to date:

• Last year of the thousand opportunities, 26 opportunities made it through our selection process.
• We collectively invested in 11 of these ventures, including Sonnant, ProcurePro, EasyRent, HEO, CipherStash, Illustrated World Series , Quantflo , Onqlave, and Aegir Tactics.
• …..And contributed our expertise by running our due diligence process on Ordr, Sonnant, Xailient, and Grow it Local resulting in over $150k in investments in each deal
• With portfolio Success Stories to Celebrate such as Quantflo and Downsizer both 3-6x their pre-seed valuations and Ordr successfully secured their $5M USD lead investor

How do we operate?

As a community we filter deals, chat, organize group Due Diligence structures, and inevitably support the capital raising of High-Quality Ventures.

Here’s a rundown:

1. Our core deal team filters their own deals and adds them to our pipeline (if you want access to the pipeline you’ll have to join the?Airtable here)
2. Each day we add new findings and insights to the pipeline and update the community as we do via Email and our private WhatsApp
3. Every fortnight we get together and discuss the deals and progress and as we as a collective get close to conviction around a deal that meets our broad investment thesis (link to thesis)
4. We then agree and open a full-scale Community-DD project which will result in an announcement of the process and an open invitation for anyone with expertise, experience, or interest to participate in the DD process

We will then host the Community DD process across a four-week period:

1. A live stackrank with a deck overview
2. Founder interview
3. Expert interviews
4. Talent interviews which result in a completed Community-DD Memo drip-fed through our newsletter and email database over that timeline

Once complete we’ll offer either a syndication opportunity to invest or refer you to where you can invest

Everyone who is accepted and actively participates in the DD will receive an equal cut of their Carry or Fee for their participation In the deal - once we complete the capital collection for the deal.
