New Packaged Facts Report Emphasizes Value in Pet Industry

Results from a?January survey of pet owners?by Packaged Facts shows the economy is putting pressure on pet consumers to spend less, but not enough to sacrifice value or lower their standards. The report states; “Nearly one-third of pet owners have had their ability to buy non-essentials negatively impacted by the economic environment, and three-fourths are on the lookout for lower prices, special offers, and sales.” However, at the same time, consumers say they will refuse to put their pet’s health at risk, as 71% of those surveyed said product quality is most important when shopping.?

Garfield Goes Corporate?

Motel 6 has appointed the lovable and sometimes grumpy orange tabby cat as its next Chief Pet Officer. Pet Business has?all the details?about the partnership, but it appears the world-famous cat character has earned the role in anticipation of the new Columbia Pictures/Alcon Entertainment animated film, debuting in movie theaters on May 24. The promotion also features rooms that have been transformed into a unique "The Garfield Movie"-themed experience at several Motel 6 locations nationwide to ensure cats (and dogs) are treated like royalty.?
