The WEG way to consolidate their market position in Brazil as manufacturer of electric motors and supplier of complete industrial systems

WEG awarded second place at the Global KAIZEN? Award 4th Edition

The company’s motto is to dig deep and be innovative, driven be the desire for progress that keeps the world revolving. Efficiency and #sustainability counted equal in WEG ’s #kaizen project, covering the Total Flow Management approach in an integrated way.

  • Up to 175% increase in productivity since 2009;
  • 13% increase in the department’s average OEE since 2019;
  • 87% reduction in overall lead time since 2009;
  • 22% reduction in the costs of non-quality since 2013;
  • 107% increase in revenue per occupied square meter since 2012.

Needless to say, these results are among the best in the world when it comes to #continuousimprovement in #manufacturing.

The WEG success journey in a nutshell

The Total Flow Management journey of WEG equaled a total #culturalchange. Significant #productivity increases resulted from the implementation of concepts such as basic stability, standardized work, leveling, and production synchronization on assembly lines. After more than 10 years on this journey, WEG developed enough maturity to take a new leap of improvement. This made it possible to fulfill an old dream of connecting all product manufacturing processes.

The concept of integrated manufacturing lines was created. In these assembly lines, the components are delivered on the borders in a pulled way. The products are assembled, and the quality is guaranteed during test phases. Finally, the logistics train takes the already packaged products for shipment.
