LAKE BREEZE has been producing really good, through to sensational wines, in Langhorne Creek for a fair old while. So much so, that over the last three decades, it has rather quietly and unobtrusively, racked up 40+ trophies and over 140 gold medals. Not a bad effort, hey?
Their best known wine is the Bernoota, (Shiraz Cabernet blend) named after the original homestead. However, the LAKE BREEZE 2014 LANGHORNE CREEK SECTION 54 SHIRAZ ranks right up there with the Bernoota as far as I am concerned.
It has a lovely bright purple colour, gorgeous brambly aromas with plenty of red berries and just a hint of cooler-climate green characters and white pepper. On the palate it gives a nice, rich, smooth mouthful of flavours with a crisp, slightly acidic finish which makes it a sensational food wine now. And for those with patience, it will be a great stand alone wine in three to five years. This wine lingers nicely on the palate and is a very classy wine indeed. ENJOY!
