This week's updates from P&C Specialist - September 23, 2022

Editor's Review

With the summer officially over, the return to office vs. work from home tension appears to be rising in the insurance industry. Several P&C carriers?are excited?about being in the office while others are taking a?more flexible approach.

One consequence of the changing work pattern is that, with fewer people coming into the office, companies are rethinking their real estate footprint. Liberty Mutual was the latest, with plans to?move out?of its namesake office building in Portland, Ore.

Speaking of jobs, Geico is fighting an effort at its upstate New York facility to unionize. While the company has touted benefits and job enhancements, the union organizers are worried about?increasing use of automation, a trend that could lead to fewer jobs industrywide.
