This week's updates from P&C Specialist - October 5, 2022

Editor's Review

As the No. 2 auto carrier, Geico is going to be in the news a lot and that has been the case over the last week. From updates on the?unionization push?at its regional center near Buffalo, N.Y., to the company’s reported refusal to?pay for repairs?on a Tesla in the Phoenix area and?job cuts?in its marketing and data science departments, the company has been grabbing headlines.

Hurricane Ian hit Florida hard, and while the ultimate impact on P&C carriers remains to be seen, early estimates suggest insured losses?could top?$60 billion. And while most of the insurance-related discussion about the hurricane has focused on the state’s crumbling homeowners market, the storm could also?damage?the auto sector.
