FanDuel
has moved to force arbitration in a high-profile legal case filed by Amit Patel, an ex-Jacksonville Jaguars worker convicted of embezzling more than $20m from the sports side. Patel, who was jailed last March, wanted $250m in damages after accusing the operator and its affiliates of knowingly enabling his gambling addiction. FanDuel says Patel agreed to binding arbitration when he signed up to use its DFS platform. It said: "With nothing but time in federal prison to dream up unsupported conspiracy theories, Patel has now filed an amended complaint premised largely on the wild and unsubstantial assertion that FanDuel knew that Patel was stealing from his employer. Even if these outlandish claims were true, Patel is nevertheless not entitled to sue FanDuel in this court at all."

- Two weeks before the #CheltenhamFestival, the ground is soft but conditions could quicken - with no substantial rain forecast. Course clerk Jon Pullin said: "We had just over 20mm of rain over the weekend and if we were racing on Tuesday you'd be calling it soft ground all over on the Old and New courses. On the cross-country course you'd be calling it soft, heavy in places. Forecast-wise, a couple of frosts are expected this week and then it looks like fairly settled conditions for next week with no extremes of weather. Next week looks mainly dry, with just some showers on the odd day. We should also get back up to double-digit daytime temperatures."
