★ European Commission to Pass New Rules Dealing With AI ★
The European Commission is attempting to adopt new rules regarding the liability of firms whose products utilize artificial intelligence. With such rules, it would be easier to take legal action against such firms when harm is caused by AI technologies such as drones, robots, smart-homes, and self-driving cars. These new rules would put more blame on the firms rather than having to show proof through the deconstruction of these complex AI systems. These new rules are part of a larger push towards keeping regulations up to date with rapidly improving technologies.

Tesla hosted their annual AI day in Palo Alto, California, giving both updates and new announcements about current and future products. The focal point of the event was the presentation of a prototype of Tesla’s humanoid robot “Optimus.” The robot walked on stage and waved at the crowd, drawing in excitement and criticism from the general public. Besides the robot, speakers also discussed improvements to Tesla’s self driving technologies and computational chips.?

Apple has announced their decision to begin producing the iPhone 14 in India. This decision comes in the wake of a strained political relationship between the U.S. and China and is also influenced by the continuing harsh COVID restrictions in China. Ultimately, it appears that Apple is trying to decrease their dependence on China while also expanding their supply chain. It is also expected that Apple will greatly boost production in India in the coming years.?
