On February 12, the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) launched a publicly available methane library to help oil and gas companies access information on technologies, tools, and strategies for reducing methane emissions and flaring. With over 150 resources, the library covers a full range of topics on methane abatement, drawing from various external sources, including international organizations such as the International Energy Agency (IEA), UNEP’s Oil & Gas Methane Partnership 2.0, the World Bank, and government agencies such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Canada’s Environment and Natural Resources department. Access the library here.

As regions around the world adopt different approaches to reducing methane emissions in oil and gas, we want to share A Guide to OGMP 2.0 Level 4 and Level 5 Reporting and Measurement Framework. This comprehensive blueprint on reporting and measurement reveals insights from OGMP 2.0 Senior Advisors Tania Meixús and Lisa Solomchuk on Gold Standard reporting, covering key topics such as the recommended Level 5 reporting process and how the OGMP 2.0 framework aligns with regulatory requirements.

Additionally, don’t miss our revamped annual regulations infographic, The 2025 State of Methane Emissions Regulations Around the Globe, which highlights major commitments, actions, and policies that nations are adopting to reduce methane emissions in the energy sector.

Event of the Week

In case you missed it, we recently released The 2025 State of Methane Emissions Regulations Around the Globe.

Following the popularity of last year's interactive map, we have revisited the infographic to share 2025's state of methane emissions globally. One key change is the recent introduction of the EU 2024/1787 regulation, now driving Europe's oil and gas industry forward by providing operators with a clear timeline to implement new processes, scale resources, and adopt innovative technologies to stay compliant.

We have also highlighted the major commitments, actions, and policies individual nations are adopting to effectively reduce methane emissions in the energy sector. Download your free copy today to explore current insights into what key countries in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America are doing to play their part.

To explore the latest solutions to reduce methane emissions in more detail, join us at the 3rd Annual Methane Mitigation: Technology & Innovation Summit, this June 2-4 in Austin, Texas.

Find out more about the summit by downloading the 2025 Event Guide.
