A total of 70 universally highly expressed miRNAs were identified in milk EVs and mammary glands. Comparing the types of miRNAs in milk EVs with those in mammary gland tissue, the consistency rate was over 90%. There were 4 types of highly expressed miRNAs in milk EVs but missing in the mammary gland. (read more)
microRNA seq revealed 125 differentially expressed miRNAs, and enrichment analysis of their target genes revealed 10 significantly enriched pathways related to lipid metabolism. In these pathways, 126 DE-miRNA target genes were also differentially expressed in the same tissues in the previous transcriptomic data. (read more)
This Week's Highlighted Technologies
microRNAs are small noncoding RNA molecules that function broadly as negative regulators of gene expression to control a wide range of cellular processes. The study of microRNA is growing rapidly as researchers discover new microRNAs and uncover the importance of these small regulatory elements linked to a wide range of biological functions.
