I’m a big fan of The Weeknd’s music but he is also a ‘star’ negotiator if a report is accurate that he used leverage to seal a great deal to headline the upcoming Coachella Festival.
For students of the art of negotiation, this is a textbook case where The Weeknd held all the cards — and used them — noting his stature in the music business, the close proximity to the event, and that organizers had apparently advertised his appearance before the deal was done.
