How do we help each other more through social media? Serious question.
Sharing your expertise, a past experience, or even a contact can make the difference in someone's journey.
A few days ago, a friend of mine asked me to send him my CV to use it as a template to work on his. He was looking to change companies. I sent it with no questions asked.
The conversation with my friend led to a few revelations. He was no longer enjoying his job. It was becoming monotonous and boring. "Life-sucking" was the term he used.
He was trapped in what we typically call "golden handcuffs". He's a top performer in his company, is well compensated, 100% remote, and has a wonderful work-life balance.
But the love of the game is no longer there.
And in my personal opinion, when you reach that point, it's time to leave.
To many, this might sound crazy.
But don't judge.
I've been there. I know what it feels like dragging yourself from bed to a job that you don't like, meeting with people that annoy the sh*t out of you, and working on things that don't fulfill you.
I also know what it feels like to be rejected at the last stage of the interview process for the company you've always dreamed of. I know the feeling of hopelesness you get when your brain shuts off and is no longer listening to the recruiter who is giving you the bad news.
It sucks.
But with a lot of work, a little creativity, and a willingness to take risks, I somehow managed to escape and find something much better.

And I wanted to transmit that to my friend. The certainty that he was not alone and it can definitely work out in the end.
After that conversation was over, I couldn't help to think that there's probably a lot of people out there who need to hear that message.
Yesterday I shared a post with my CV for everyone to use as a template. I thought ... why not share it with everyone over LinkedIn? Might be useful to someone else.
Turns out ... it resonated with a lot of people. So, I'll keep sharing going forward.

So, with that ... if you have any questions or need advice on how to get out of a rut ... Send me a DM and I'll happily give you my perspective. Or at least point you to someone who might know the answer.
Because what's the point of being connected to millions of people through LinkedIn if we're not going to help each other get to the next level ?
Let's stop "liking" and start commenting more. Conversations are needed.
Hope that's helpful and wish you a wonderful weekend.
Peace.
